  • The Dallas Stars announced that they have re-signed defenseman Thomas Harley.
    • Harley would sign an 8-year deal with an AAV of $10.587 million per season.

Jersey Tracking and Mini Recaps

Pittsburgh Penguins v. Philadelphia Flyers – 6p ET

  • In Philadelphia, the Frozen Frenzy would begin as the Flyers host the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Battle of Pennsylvania, and in the first period, Justin Brazeau would score to give the Penguins the 1-0 lead, but Bobby Brink would score on the powerplay to tie the game at one. In the second period, Travis Konecny would score to give the Flyers the 2-1 lead. Then in the third period, Sidney Crosby would score to tie the game at two for the Penguins to force overtime. In the extra frame, we thought it would be over with a Flyers powerplay goal, but it would be waved off, and it would be Bobby Brink with the shootout winner to give the Flyers the 3-2 victory over the Penguins.

Calgary Flames v. Toronto Maple Leafs – 6p ET

  • In Toronto, the Maple Leafs would play host to the Calgary Flames, and in the first period, Morgan Frost would score to give the Flames the 1-0 lead. In the second period, Max Domi would score to tie the game at one for the Leafs, but a tally from Joel Farabee would retake the lead for the Flames. However, Matthew Knies would score with 35 seconds left in the period to tie the game at two for the Leafs. Then in the third period, Knies would net his second of the game to give the Maple Leafs the 3-2 late, but Samuel Honzek would score his first career NHL goal to tie the  game at 3 for the Flames. However, a late goal from Domi would give the Leafs the 4-3 victory over the Flames.

Vegas Golden Knights v. Carolina Hurricanes – 630p ET

  • In Carolina, the Vegas Golden Knights would visit the Hurricanes, and in the first period, Andrei Svechnikov would net his first of the season while on the powerplay to give the Hurricanes the 1-0 lead, but Pavel Dorofeyev would score a pair of goals to give the Knights the 2-1 lead. In the second period, Jordan Martinook would score to tie the game at two for the Hurricanes. Then in the third period, Logan Stankoven would score to give the Hurricanes the 3-2, but Brett Howden and Tomas Hertl would score and Jack Eichel would score a pair of goals to give the Golden Knights the 6-3 victory over the Hurricanes.

Columbus Blue Jackets v. Buffalo Sabres – 645p ET

  • In Buffalo, the Sabres would play host to the Columbus Blue Jackets, and in the first period Yegor Chinakhov would score to give the Jackets the 1-0 lead. In the second period, Josh Doan would score to tie the game at one for the Sabres, and then Ryan McLeod would score to give the Sabres the 2-1 lead. However, late in the period while on the powerplay, Zach Werenski would score to tie the game at two for the Jackets. Then in the third period, Josh Dunne would score his first career NHL goal to give the Sabres the 3-2 lead, but Miles Wood would score to tie the game at three for the Jackets to force overtime. In the extra frame, Wood would score his second of the game to give the Blue Jackets the 4-3 victory over the Sabres.

Anaheim Ducks v. Florida Panthers – 7p ET

  • In Florida, the Panthers would play host to their 1993 expansion sibling Anaheim Ducks, and after a scoreless first period, Leo Carlsson scored shorthanded to give the Ducks the 1-0 lead, and then the Ducks would follow it up with a powerplay goal by Cutter Gauthier. Then in the third period, Anton Lundell would score for the Panthers to get back within one, and Sam Reinhart would score to tie the game at two and send it to overtime for the Panthers. After a scoreless five minutes of extra hockey, it would be Mason McTavish in the shootout to give the Ducks the 3-2 victory over the Panthers.

New York Islanders v. Boston Bruins – 715p ET

  • In Boston, the New York Islanders would come to town to face the Bruins, and in first period, Bo Horvat and Kyle Palmieri would score to give the Islanders the 2-0 lead. In the second period, Elias Lindholm would score to get the Bruins on the board and back within one. For the Bruins, they would also get goals from David Pastrnak and Michael Eyssimont to give them the 3-2 lead. Then in the third period, Morgan Geekie would score on the powerplay and Fraser Minton would score the empty netter to give the Bruins the 5-2 victory over the Islanders.

Tampa Bay Lightning v. Nashville Predators – 745p ET

  • In Nashville, the Predators played host to the Tampa Bay Lightning, and in the first period, Zemgus Girgensons would score to give the Lightning the 1-0 lead. In the second period, Brandon Hagel would score to give the Lightning the 2-0 lead. Then in the third period, Luke Evangelista would score on the powerplay to get the Predators back within one, but Charle-Edouard D’Astous would score his first career NHL goal to give the Lightning the 3-1 lead. However, Filip Forsberg would score to get the Predators back within one, but and empty netter from Nikita Kucherov and Girgensons netting his second of the game would give the Lightning the 5-2 victory over the Predators.

Winnipeg Jets v. Minnesota Wild – 8p ET

  • In Minnesota, the Wild would break out their inaugural white jerseys to celebrate their 25th anniversary as they host the Heritage Blue clad Winnipeg Jets, and in the first period, Gabriel Vilardi and Vladislav Namestnikov would score to give the Jets the 2-0 lead. In the second period, Kirill Kaprizov would score to get the Wild on the board and back within one, and Brock Faber would score to tie the game at two for the Wild. Then in the third period, Faber would score on the powerplay for his second of the game to give the Wild the 3-2 lead, but Nino Niederreiter would score to tie the game at three for the Jets to force overtime. In the extra frame, Kyle Connor would score to give the Jets the 4-3 overtime victory over the Wild.

Detroit Red Wings v. St. Louis Blues – 815p ET

  • In St. Louis, the Blues would play host to the Detroit Red Wings, and in the first period, Brayden Schenn would score to give the Blues the 1-0 lead, but Ben Chiarot would score to tie the game at one and Alex DeBrincat would score on the powerplay to give the Wings the 2-1 lead. In the second period, Dylan Larkin and Elmer Soderblom would score to give the Wings the 4-1 lead. Then in the third period, Jordan Kyrou would score for the Blues, but Larkin would net his second of the game to give the Red Wings the 5-2 victory over the Blues.

Washington Capitals v. Dallas Stars – 830p ET

  • In Dallas, the Washington Capitals would come to town to face the Stars, and after a scoreless first period, Tyler Seguin would score on the powerplay to give the Stars the 1-0 victory over the Capitals. Jake Oettinger would stop all 24 shots faced to earn the shutout.

Ottawa Senators v. Chicago Blackhawks – 845p ET

  • In Chicago, the Blackhawks would play host to the Ottawa Senators, and in the first period Colton Dach, Louis Crevier, and Connor Bedard would score to give the Blackhawks the 3-0 lead. In the second period, Bedard would net his second of the game to grow the Blackhawks lead to 4, but Jake Sanderson, Michael Amadio, and Tim Stutzle would score to get the Senators on the board and back within one. Then in the third period, Bedard would score to complete the hat trick and Ryan Donato and Frank Nazar (SHENG) would score and give the Blackhawks the 7-3
